Jonathan Kane, Managing Director Emeritus


Jonathan Kane is a Managing Director Emeritus with Katz, Kane & Co. He is currently President of CCS Fundraising (a Katz, Kane & Co. client). Jon has more than 32 years of investment banking, private equity and creditor experience. Prior to founding Katz, Kane & Co., Mr. Kane was most recently Managing Director and founding Co-Head of the Restructuring Group at GCA (then GCA Savvian), the global investment bank. Prior to joining GCA, Jon was Managing Partner and President of The Patriot Group, an alternative investment fund manager focused on opportunity and distressed lending. Mr. Kane joined Patriot with broad experience in private equity and investment banking including, most recently, as a founding managing partner of Advanta Growth Capital, a $100 million private equity/venture capital partnership focused on investment opportunities in the financial and business services markets.

Prior to Advanta, Mr. Kane was at E.M. Warburg Pincus & Co., a leading private equity firm, where he was responsible for sourcing, evaluating and structuring equity and equity-related investments. Mr. Kane joined Warburg Pincus after serving as Senior Vice President of Millicom International Cellular, a developer and operator of cellular phone companies in emerging markets, where he was responsible for managing Millicom's global portfolio of joint venture partners, business development and corporate finance/M&A activities.

Mr. Kane began his career at the consulting firm of McKinsey and Company and then served in the Investment Banking and Mergers & Acquisitions Department at Goldman Sachs, focusing on buy-side and sell-side transactions in a variety of industries as well as formulating merger and joint venture structures and strategies for Fortune 500 clients. Mr. Kane received his BA from Brown University and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Jon is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO).
